This article tells the story of Jane’s Walk, a festival that began as a one-city memorial to the great urban thinker Jane Jacobs, and has since evolved into a movement spanning nearly 200 cities around the world.
I was lucky enough to organize the first Jane’s Walk in Providence, RI, and experience the magic of the event firsthand. After I moved to Brooklyn this year, two talented folks, Joelle Kanter and Caroline Nye Stevens, have taken on the task in Providence with great success!
