Urbex in Hamilton

Sunny Hamilton

Before leaving Hamilton, we did a fair amount of exploration. We found an abandoned looking mosque somewhere North (?) of Hamilton, a giant, globe-painted tank on the South-Eastern industrial end of the city, and some other craziness along the shoreline.

We also visited the Museum of Steam and Technology, which I highly recommend if you’re at all interested in the late 1800s and early 1900s or machinery of any kind. It appears to be a kind of Mecca for steampunk aficionados. Also, the tour guide told me about a masters program at Western called Public History. After rereading my artist/curatorial/whatever statement I wrote earlier this year, it seems like it could be a really good fit…

We also met a steam-powered family there who were great conversation. Photos!
